Ambassador Lyu Jian Visits Nong Khai Province

On September 11, Ambassador Lyu Jian and diplomats from the Chinese Embassy visited Nong Khai Province, met with Mr. Narongchai Jitvisit the governor of Nong Khai, and held talks with Customs and Immigration officials. They went to the port of Nong Khai, visited Guangkeng Rubber Factory and talked extensively with the chambers of Commerce and Chinese community members of Nong Khai. Liao Junyun, Consul General in Khon Kaen joined the visit.

Ambassador Lyu listened to the introduction of economic and social development of Nong Khai. The local communities expressed earnestly hoped of the soonest connection of China-Thailand Railway China-Lao Railway so that Nong Khai province could gain competitive edge of its geography, unleash economic potential and attract more Chinese investment and tourists to Nong Khai.

   
Ambassador Lyu said that the Chinese government attached great importance to China-Thailand relations and cooperation with the northeastern region of Thailand. We support regional interconnection and exchanges, and is willing to work with all parties to actively promote the construction of the China-Thailand Railway so as to benefit the areas along as soon as possible.
