BANGKOK, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said Wednesday that the comprehensive strategic partnership for cooperation between the two countries is set to move forward and benefit the two peoples with the Thai royal family's support.

Wen made the remarks at a meeting with Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The king and the royal family have made indispensable contributions to promoting friendship between the two nations, said Wen, adding that he and Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra have exchanged views on bilateral ties and reached new consensus.

The king said Wen's visit to Thailand is important in deepening bilateral ties. He expressed the hope that the two sides could step up cooperation in trade, agriculture, technology, water conservancy and railway, and promote people-to-people exchanges.

Earlier, Wen held talks with Yingluck Shinawatra and Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda on bilateral friendly ties. He arrived here Tuesday night for an official visit to the country.
