Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand Briefed the Committee of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of the House of Representatives of Thailand on the Development of COVID-19 in China and China's Measures in Countering the Epidemic

On 12 Feb, Mr. Yang Xin, Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand briefed the Committee of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation of the House of Representatives of Thailand on the development of COVID-19 in China and China’s measure in countering the epidemic.

Yang said that after the breakout of the epidemic, President Xi Jinping and other Chinese leaders have put the battle against the epidemic on top of their agenda, and attached paramount importance to people’s health and safety. Acting as a responsible major country, China has adopted the most comprehensive and stringent measures of prevention and control, many of which go far beyond requirements of WHO, highly hailed by the WHO and the international society. Yang thanked Thailand for its valuable support and assistance in China’s fight against the epidemic and expressed confidence, capability and sureness in China eventually prevailing over the battle against the epidemic.

Chairman of the Committee of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation spoke positively on China’s measures, applauded China for being transparent and open throughout the process of epidemic response, which he believed effectively curb the spread of the virus. He expressed his confidence that under the strong leadership of the Chinese government, China would win over this battle at an early date.
