Chinese Embassy in Thailand Attended 7th Celebration of Thai Silk

  Recently, the 7th Celebration of Thai Silk was held in Bangkok. Ambassadors, spouses of ambassadors of multiple foreign countries and Thai officials participated in the Thai silk fashion show, where Madame Pan Peng, spouse of Chinese Ambassador, demonstrated a unique combination of Chinese and Thai clothing culture by wearing a cheongsam in dark green Thai silk. Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Yuthasak Supasorn and other Thai officials attended the event. All in traditional Chinese costumes, Ambassador Lyu Jian led some Chinese Embassy staff to the fashion show, bringing a noble and classic Chinese style to the scene.

  The fashion show, themed “Thai Silk Road to the World”, was jointly held by the Ministry of Culture of Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Queen Sirikit Department of Sericulture in celebration of the 85th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Top fashion designers from more than 20 countries including Chinese designer Yi Ming came to Bangkok upon invitation to design and make suits and dresses of their own national styles with Thai silk.

  Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu thanked the Chinese Embassy in Thailand for participating for the first time in the Thai silk dress show and praised Madame Pan Peng for her brilliant performance in presenting Chinese clothes culture. After the fashion show, Madame Pan Peng said in an interview that China and Thailand are traditional neighbors, and she hoped that this event could enhance mutual friendship and promote cultural exchange between the two countries.
