Former Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Zhang Jiuhuan Attended Signing of MOU on Cooperation Between Confucius Institute in Betong and Seven Partner Institutions

  On November 19, H.E. Mr. Zhang Jiuhuan, former Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, visited Betong, a city in Southern Thailand and bore witness to the signing of an MOU between the Confucius Institute in Betong and seven partner institutions on conducting friendly cooperation in Chinese language and culture teaching. Mrs. Feng Xiao, Consul for overseas Chinese affairs from the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Songkhla, Betong Mayor Somyot Lertlamyong, presidents of the Confucius Institute and the seven schools, and representatives of teachers were present.


  Zhang Jiuhuan pointed out that thanks to the high-paced development of Chinese economy and the rapid progress of the Belt and Road, China will become world’s largest market in the near future, and cooperation between China and Thailand will go from strength to strength. In this connection, a large number of talent who can speak both Thai and Chinese and know well cultures of the two countries are needed. It is hoped that all parties will take the signing of the MOU as an opportunity and bring relevant cooperation to a new high.
