Ambassador Lyu Jian Sent Message to Thai-Chinese Youth Entrepreneurs: Seizing China's Opportunities and Carrying forward Fine Traditions

  On the evening of November 10, Ambassador Lyu Jian was invited to attend and address the 15th anniversary celebration of Thai-Chinese Youth Entrepreneur Association.

  Ambassador Lyu Jian applauded the work of Thai-Chinese Youth Entrepreneur Association in promoting economic and social development in Thailand and in improving exchanges and cooperation between Thailand and China, and expressed warm congratulations to the Association on its 15th anniversary.

  In his speech, Ambassador Lyu talked about the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He said that the 19th National Congress is a meeting of great importance taking place during the decisive stage in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and at a critical moment as socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era. The Congress came up with several major political judgments such as the principal contradiction facing Chinese society has evolved into one between unbalanced and inadequate development and the people's ever-growing needs for a better life. The Congress affirmed the historic role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and set forth the tasks of securing a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and embarking on a journey to fully build a modern socialist China. The Congress also made an overall plan for advancing the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the great new project of Party building in the new era.

  Ambassador Lyu also elaborated on the great achievements of China's economic development in the past 5 years and made three suggestions to the Thai-Chinese Youth Entrepreneurs Association and its members. First, to seize the important opportunity of China's economic development, give full play to its advantages in capital, social networks and connections with China and other countries, strengthen cooperation with China and achieve win-win results. Second, to grasp the convergence between China and Thailand and help enhance the complementarity of China's Belt and Road Initiative and Thailand 4.0 as well as the Eastern Economic Corridor. The third is to carry forward the fine traditions of the overseas Chinese community, learn from the older generation of overseas Chinese, take an active part in overseas Chinese community activities, be dedicated to charity and public welfare undertakings in China and Thailand, support and safeguard the great cause of China's peaceful reunification, and make contributions to Thailand's economic and social development and the friendship between the two countries.

  More than 200 people attended the celebration including Adun Sangsingkaw, Minister of Social Development and Human Security of Thailand, Director General Zhang Jianqing of the Overseas Department of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council of China, members of Thai-Chinese Youth Entrepreneur Association and representatives of overseas Chinese in Thailand.
