Ambassador Lyu Jian Visited Thai Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu

On November 6, Ambassador Lyu Jian paid a visit to Thai Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam at the Prime Minister's Office.

Ambassador Lyu thanked Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu for his long-standing commitment to promoting China-Thailand friendly relations, his strong support to the Chinese Embassy, and his recent joint interview with the Chinese media in Thailand on the 19th CPC National Congress report. Ambassador Lyu said that President Xi's special envoy and Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli's visit to Thailand for the funeral of Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in late October, as well as his cordial greetings with King Vajiralongkorn and fruitful talks with Deputy Prime Minister Somkid, fully reflected the particularity and importance of China-Thailand relations. China attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with Thailand and is willing to work with Thailand to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, synergize development strategies, deepen pragmatic cooperation and jointly elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu congratulated Ambassador Lyu on his assumption of the office and thanked Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli for his visit to Thailand as the special envoy of President Xi Jinping to attend the funeral of Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Wissanu said that the success of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China will have a profound impact on China and the world, and that President Xi Jinping's experience in state governance is of great guiding significance to all countries. Thailand is willing to continue to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with China at all levels and in various fields and work to make sure that important cooperation projects represented by China-Thailand Railway will take root in Thailand and create greater benefits for both peoples.
