Ambassador Lyu Jian Met with Representatives from Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry

  On the afternoon of October 31, Ambassador Lyu Jian met with representatives from Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by Chairman Sadawut Taechaubol.

  Ambassador Lyu Jian commended Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its long-standing commitment to developing commerce and industry in Thailand and promoting economic exchanges and trade between China and Thailand, and expressed thankfulness to Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry for their support to the Chinese Embassy over the years. He said that China and Thailand are in an important stage of development. The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which has just came to a successful close, expounded on upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era in terms of both politics and practices, and gave strategic instructions on advancing the work of the party and the state in all aspects. Thailand 4.0 and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) are quite compatible with the concept, goals and methods of China’s development, such as the Belt and Road initiative, hence the bilateral cooperation is facing new opportunities. Ambassador Lyu hoped that the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry will give full play to their strengths and advantages, and further promote China-Thailand economic exchanges and trade and pragmatic cooperation.

  Chairman Sadawut Taechaubol of Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry warmly congratulated Ambassador Lyu on assuming his post in Thailand. Chairman Sadawut Taechaubol briefed Ambassador Lyu on the work of Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and expressed their willingness to continue to play an active role in encouraging more members to participate in the building of the Belt and Road and make contributions to China-Thailand relations and economic and social development of the two countries.
