On 7 January 2022, when taking a joint interview by Royal Thai Army Radio and Television Channel 5, and TOPNEWS Television, Ambassador Han Zhiqiang stressed that, after the outbreak of the pandemic in China in early 2020, Thailand took the lead in expressing encouragement and donating medical materials to China. After the pandemic in Thailand got worse last year, China earnestly provided support to Thailand in a timely and continuous manner. Up to now, China has provided Thailand with 50.85 million doses of vaccines in total, including 3.35 million as donations to help Thailand build an effective vaccine barrier. A friend in need is a friend indeed. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, our two countries have been supporting each other and overcoming the difficulties together. This is the best interpretation of "China and Thailand are one family".

Ambassador Han pointed out that the Omicron variant is spreading, and uncertainty still exists about the pandemic. As long as Thailand has the needs and China has the capability, we will continue to fully support the Thailand in the fight against the pandemic.
