Ambassador Lyu Jian Visited Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports Kobkarn

  On November 3, Ambassador Lyu Jian paid a visit to Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand. Both sides exchanged views on promoting China-Thailand tourism cooperation.

  Ambassador Lyu said that China-Thailand tourism cooperation has been advancing steadily in recent years, making great contributions to economic and social development and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The number of Chinese visitors to Thailand may top 9.5 million, hitting a new record high. The Chinese side appreciates efforts made by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand to initiate new tourism projects, improve tourism services, safeguard the lawful rights and interests and personal security of Chinese tourists. It is hoped that the relevant departments of the two countries will further strengthen cooperation and expand each other’s tourism markets, and it is believed that the future of China-Thailand tourism cooperation will be more promising.

  Mrs. Kobkarn said that China is Thailand’s largest source of tourists and that the Thai side attaches great importance and stays committed to promoting Thailand-China tourism cooperation. Thailand has just launched the “Amazing Thailand Tourism Year”, hoping to take this opportunity to cooperate with the Chinese side to organize a variety of supporting activities. Thailand is willing to work with China to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in the field of tourism, and provide Chinese tourists with services of higher quality.
