Announcement of Establishment of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center, Bangkok

The comprehensive strategic and cooperative partnership between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Thailand has been deepened over the last few years. Bilateral  cooperation in economic, trade and cultural fields has been developing significantly. People-to-people exchanges are on the rise. In order to cope with the increasing number of applications and facilitate all applicants efficiently with high-quality service, from September 29th, 2015, the applicants including Thai people and other foreigners holding ordinary passports, applying for ordinary types of Chinese visa and documents' legalization should submit the applications to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center, Bangkok. The Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy would no longer accept applications for ordinary types of Chinese visa and documents' legalization.

The Chinese Visa Application Service Center will be responsible for accepting and processing the applications for Chinese visa and documents' legalization and take a preliminary check on the applications.The Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy is still responsible for examining and approving for visa applications and documents' legalization and has the right to require additional documents and an interview of the applicants if needed.

However, the applicants holding  Diplomatic passports, Official(Service) passports or ordinary passports holders applying for diplomatic, official, courtesy visa, foreigners applying for Hongkong and Macau SAR visa, still submit the applications directly to the Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy. And Chinese nationals applying for Chinese passports and travel documents, Chinese passport or travel document holders applying for Hongkong SAR entry permit and documents' notarization, keep the old way to submit the applications directly to the Consular Section of the Chinese Embassy.
